What is CEC Edir?
CEC Edir is a non-profit under the Colorado Ethiopian Community, providing burial assistance and financial help to families during times of crisis — including bereavement, illness, unemployment, and disability. More than 1,000 members support one another.
Reestablished in 2016 under the Colorado Ethiopian Community, with roots back to 1992. The Edir operates with its own by-laws and elected leadership.
- One-time registration fee of $500.00
- $15,000 benefit paid in time of loss
- Colorado residency ID required to register
- New members wait 6 months before benefits apply
- Edir members may also join the Community and access all community services

Every plan includes the one-time $500 registration fee and the $15,000 benefit paid in time of loss.
Family with kids
$25 / month
or $300 / year
Covers a married couple and their dependent children living in the household.
ApplySingle with kids
$20 / month
or $250 / year
For a single parent and their dependent children living in the household.
Annual amount is under review by the Edir administration.
ApplyHusband & Wife only
$20 / month
or $240 / year
For a married couple with no dependent children registered.
ApplyPay Edir dues
Invoices are emailed twice a year and can also be paid by text message. Keeping dues current is a membership requirement — please read the by-laws for full rights and obligations.
